Well, we have survived the hurricane with minimal damage. Today, I decided to fold the ginormous pile of laundry that was on top of my washer and dryer. Spock had other ideas. This is why I can never fold laundry:
Yes. That is Ice-T on the television. That's how we roll.

Hurricane Sandy
We are right in the path of Hurricane Sandy. Spock and I are cozied up on the couch watching Law & Order: SVU. We have pumpkin spice tea and soup and sourdough bread. We can hear the wind and rain outside and dread going out for bathroom breaks. Spock tries to hide in the bushes to avoid the rain drops and jumps over the puddles. We are happy to be safe on the couch with blankets.

Roasted Broccoli
Have you tried roasted broccoli yet? Basically, you toss your broccoli with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and roast it at 425 for 20 minutes and then sprinkle it with lemon juice and parmesan cheese. I did a cheater version tonight and used garlic powder and it turned out delicious. In fact, that's all I had for dinner... Unless you count candy corn...

Octobering
Over the past few days it has gotten very chilly here. Immediate switch from flip flops to socks and shoes, which always makes me sad. I've started thinking about my Christmas projects, and am working diligently on one of them. I am trying not to overextend myself this year, because we are moving right before Christmas. A pair of socks, a neckerchief, a few cookies.

Peanut... Peanut butter
Ok, I know this is weird but I don't like Nutella. I just don't like hazelnut. Lucky for me, I found a substitute. Biscoff spread. Tastes like cookies.
I also just found this awesome peanut butter by Peanut Butter and Co. It is called Mighty Maple and has maple syrup mixed in. Love me some maple.

Happenings
You've probably noticed that I haven't been posting lately. I've been working on getting my Ed.D in educational leadership and the past few months have been really focused on starting my dissertation. Over the past week, I've been in my yearly residency and I am mentally exhausted.
I've been listening to Pandora, while locked in this basement classroom. I am revealing my inner teen here by telling you the name of the station is One Direction (sometimes I switch it up with Call Me Maybe). Somehow, no idea how, Pandora has been playing my very inspirational writing music about no worries, don't give up, being a sky scraper. It might be just a little creepy...
