We have a house guest for the next few days, which is very fun.  Except our house has not fully recovered from me moving in.  So I had to do some last minute throwing stuff into the master bedroom this evening.  Totally worth it though, because our Hawai'i friends are some of the best people in the world.

And tomorrow I get to spend my biannual Valentine's Day dinner with the Freemasons, after my afternoon at NASA headquarters.  Two years ago, this involved trained killers singing show tunes on the Metro, this year promises to be just as entertaining.

Before I met Mr. Logical, I had no desire to go to Hawai'i.  Given the choice, there were probably twenty other places I would have chosen rather than Hawai'i.  But then I met Mr. Logical, who had lived there for five years and loved it.

I first went to Hawai'i in the fall of 2009, to attend a wedding, in which Mr. Logical was the best man.  I was only there for four days (life of a teacher with very little leave), and we packed so much of Oahu into those four days.  Long story short, I fell in love with Hawai'i.  Last summer, we returned for two weeks, and got engaged on our last night there.  Four months after that we were married there, and honeymooned in Kauai.  Now, I'd jump at the chance to go to Hawai'i.  There is just something amazing about it.

Newly Wed

Mr. Logical and I got married a little less than a month ago, in a beautiful little ceremony in Hawai'i.  One of the big questions everyone asked me (besides the dreaded kids question) was whether or not I would change my last name.  Well, I did... or I am trying to at least.

When we got our marriage license, the lady told us that the certificates were running 2 to 3 months out.  We chose to expedite our certificate, since Mr. Logical had already filled out forms with my name as Laura Logical.  And we are still waiting for that certificate.  So I can't get my social security card, change my driver's license, or open our joint account at the credit union.

Meanwhile, people are writing me checks as Laura Logical.  Anyone know where I can get a fake ID?
