Vacationing
I am itching to go on a trip, but there are still eight more weeks of school. We were planning a trip to Alaska for this summer, but we have to postpone it due to some scheduling conflicts. So now I am looking at weekend trips we could take this summer. One idea is Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore. Maybe Savannah, which I've wanted to visit since I read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Or maybe a quick weekend to see the new community my parents are moving to...

Almost Vacation
This week I am at outdoor school with my 6th graders. So far we are having a great time, but man is it tiring to be with kids 24 hours a day! The fresh air and laughter is doing us all good though. Mr. Logical has orders to make me a chocolate bourbon milkshake Friday night!

Vacation Dreams
Italy 2008
Turkey 2009
One place Mr. Logical and I desperately want to go is South Africa. I have a few other places on my mind, as well: Portland, Oregon; Chicago; Savannah, GA; and the southwestern US.

Vacation Dreams
Pali Lookout 2009
Sunrise 2011
I first went to Hawai'i in the fall of 2009, to attend a wedding, in which Mr. Logical was the best man. I was only there for four days (life of a teacher with very little leave), and we packed so much of Oahu into those four days. Long story short, I fell in love with Hawai'i. Last summer, we returned for two weeks, and got engaged on our last night there. Four months after that we were married there, and honeymooned in Kauai. Now, I'd jump at the chance to go to Hawai'i. There is just something amazing about it.

Home again, home again jiggity jog
During this trip, some demons were finally laid to rest. New memories were made in their place. And life is looking so much sweeter from where I'm standing now.

It's Summer, Summer never ends
Today is day 4 of summer vacation, if you don't count the weekend after. I have been busy every single day. It's crazy and good at the same time. Here's what I have been up to since Friday:
Saturday: Baby Shower in the morning, Graduation Party in the evening
Sunday: Sean came over to swim, went to Super Walmart
Monday: Gym, Rachael came over to swim, Super Walmart with M
Tuesday: Went to Baden to get the directions for the website and to print my standards, went to Educate and Celebrate in Waldorf, went to California Nails and got my eyebrows waxed, stopped by the church offices to help Julie plan VBS, went to Bike Doctor of Crofton and bought my bike (this took hours), went to the bank, M picked up the bike for me, went to Super Walmart, watched Taken
Wednesday: Worked on website, napped, went to Julie's and worked on website, got my new camera, cleaned, found my missing check, did laundry, Kerith & Sean came over to swim, worked on website, went to Target, cut out stuff for 2 centers, finished Q & A
Today I am going to the gym, picking up my mom to come and swim, then hopefully going to the library, and then riding bikes with M (so excited to try out the 7.3). Tomorrow yoga class with Julie and then National Board stuff all day. Saturday I'm helping M take nephews on a bike ride and packing up for the big road trip to New England. Sunday we leave!
Life is pretty freaking awesome right now. It's like a reward after that horrible year.
