Remember the Alamo

While in San Antonio, Mr. Logical went to the Alamo.  I kind of knew the story of the Alamo, but not really, so it was cool to see the exhibit and read about what actually happened there.

We also visited the cathedral where the three best known heroes of the Alamo were laid to rest.  I went once by myself, and while I was visiting the museum/gift shop there the lady working there had to lock me in so she could go to the restroom.  I thought that was a little funny.

While in San Antonio, I explored a lot of their beautiful River Walk.

It was pretty hot, but I still had fun wandering around.

A dream realized

I have wanted a pair of cowboy boots for a long, long time.  At least 10 years.  I only wanted to get them in Texas, however, so I never got them.

Last week, we got the opportunity to go to San Antonio for a few days, and I finally got my boots.  The girl who helped me was really knowledgeable, and I tried on a couple pairs.  I ended up with the first pair I tried on, super comfy.

I can't wait to wear them this fall!

Vacationing

I am itching to go on a trip, but there are still eight more weeks of school.  We were planning a trip to Alaska for this summer, but we have to postpone it due to some scheduling conflicts.  So now I am looking at weekend trips we could take this summer.  One idea is Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore. Maybe Savannah, which I've wanted to visit since I read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.  Or maybe a quick weekend to see the new community my parents are moving to...

Travel, my new favorite thing

I've always know I love to travel, but this year has really amped up the desire to do so. I have had a trip every month since June. I already have trips for next year planned out. It's amazing to me how many different things there are to see in this world, and how easy it is to see them. I really wish I was independently wealthy and could just travel all the time.
